Skyline Retail REIT Acquires Five Properties; Enters Three New Communities

On August 1st, 2014, Skyline Retail REIT purchased a portfolio of five retail properties across Ontario.

These properties added a variety of new national brand name tenants to the REIT, including Dairy Queen, Harveys and Starbucks. The REIT also entered three new communities: Port Elgin, St. Mary’s, and Alliston.

The acquisition included the following addresses:

  • 1199 Goderich Street, Port Elgin, ON
  • 84 Wellington Street South, St. Mary’s, ON
  • 95, 97, 109, 117 & 129 Young Street, Alliston, ON
  • Westside Market Village (at Riddell and Centennial Road), Orangeville, ON
  • Westside Business Centre (at Riddell and Centennial Road), Orangeville, ON

The total purchase price of the portfolio was $64.25 million, and the portfolio added an additional 271,851 square feet of commercial space to the Retail REIT.

Skyline Retail REIT currently comprises 28 properties in 18 Ontario communities, with 876,013 square feet of commercial space.
